Topotrail Trophy in short
3 races of maximum 6 hours per race
1 ranking per individual race.
1 final, accumulated ranking for the complete series of 3 races
The checkpoints are divided into different series with different types of assignments.
Each series contains a certain amount of checkpoints and delivers a certain amount of ranking points.
Be sure to grab extra bonus points or avoid penalty points along the way ...
Fun is more important than winning. You can't lose.
Each team performs an effort that they can handle themselves and collects ranking points.
If you navigate well, you should be able to find all checkpoints at ±40km distance per race.
Teams can participate in either individual races, or take up the challenge and subscribe for all 3 races and compete for the final 2024 trophy

The course of your Topotrail race
Registration
-
Just before the start of the competition, all participants receive a competition briefing
Start of the match
-
Each team tactically chooses 1 series with an unknown assignment. Only the ranking points of that series are visible.
-
A.h.v. the type of assignment, you first look for the correct locations of your series on the topographic map, or you immediately leave according to the guidelines of that assignment.
Further course of the match
-
Look for the checkpoint(s) in the defined area.
-
Each checkpoint has a unique code. You must write this down on the assignment sheet.
-
Return to base camp
- When all checkpoints have been found
- When you couldn't find all the checkpoints yet, but don't want to lose extra time.
- On return to Basecamp:
- If you were unable to find certain checkpoints, mini points will be charged.
- A series is completely completed when you have reached all checkpoints and noted down the unique codes
- The number of ranking points for the series will be added to your ranking total
- The team can replenish the necessary drinks, snacks and refreshments.
-
The team then decides tactically whether it wants to start a new series.
-
If you are not back on time, the entire series will be charged in negative points
-
End of the match:
-
The competition ends after 6 hours
-
The winner of the match is the one who collects the most number of ranking points for that match.
-
In the event of an equal tie, the person who reaches Base Camp the fastest is the winner.
-
The points collected by each participant are added to the total final ranking of the Topotrail Trophy.
